Texas: The Issue Is – What to do about the border crisis | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Governor Abbott announced that the border issue will be added to the October special session, which was originally focused on education. The session will address the crisis at the border, with legislative hearings on the immigrant community known as The Colony. This session will also consider other border bills and may include discussions on school choice. However, it is unlikely that there will be a solution to the border crisis, as the Biden administration and Congress are not collaborating on serious reform. The plan proposed by Representative Morales may offer a potential solution, but it will be a hard sell. Ultimately, education and border issues are both important topics in the upcoming session.
The FOX Texas Trio discusses the crisis at the border, and what Texas and the Biden administration can do to find solutions.

Hays County district clerk resigns | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Avery Anderson, elected at 19, faced numerous issues during his tenure, including failing to send jury summons, subpoenas, and protective orders. Attorneys Khloe Love and Thomas filed a lawsuit to remove him in September 2023, citing widespread concerns about his competence. In February, a judge found Anderson incompetent. A hearing was held last month to consider his temporary removal, but Anderson resigned instead, avoiding a potentially embarrassing trial. He denied incompetence in his resignation letter, attributing his errors to inexperience. District Attorney Kelly Higgins welcomed the resignation, anticipating better collaboration moving forward. Angela Shen reported for Fox 7 Austin News.
