Two 18-year-olds plead guilty to robbing USPS workers across DFW
SUMMARY: Two 18-year-old men, Jared Coleman and Lewis Dixon, pleaded guilty to a series of robberies targeting postal workers across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. They were tracked down in April, aided by cell phone data, after robbing an apartment complex in Fort Worth. During a traffic stop on April 18th, they were found with a Postal Service master key. Linked to eight robberies over four months, they frequently stole Arrow keys from mail carriers at gunpoint. The U.S. Postal Service launched the “Safe Delivery” initiative in May to enhance security. Coleman and Dixon could face up to 15 years in federal prison.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service says Coleman and Dixon are linked to at least eight robberies over the course of four months.

Anthony Yanez concerned as Hurricane Beryl keeps moving right
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Anthony provides an update on Hurricane Barrel, which is nearing northern Mexico with a well-defined eye, moving West Northwest at 15 mph and winds at 65 mph. Expected to intensify, it’s shifting rightward, affecting Corpus Christi less and potentially hitting Matagorda Bay directly by Monday. A hurricane watch is in effect from Matagorda County to South Texas, with storm surges from three to five feet. Concerns stem from potential rightward movement towards Southeast Texas, not stalling like Harvey in 2017. Models show varying impacts, but significant rainfall (up to 7 inches) is expected in Southeast Texas, with flooding risks on Monday and Tuesday.

When will Hurricane Beryl hit Texas?
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Ali Terano reports that the storm system Barrel is headed towards Texas, expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico as a tropical storm. Over the next 24-36 hours, it may intensify to Hurricane strength by Sunday night. The storm’s track has shifted eastward, with landfall now anticipated near Corpus Christi on Monday afternoon, potentially as a strong Category 1 or borderline Category 2 hurricane. The storm could bring 5-10 inches of rain, with isolated areas seeing over a foot, particularly impacting East and Southeast Texas. Warm Gulf waters and favorable conditions will likely aid the storm’s intensification. Residents should closely monitor updates.
