TxDOT crews ready to treat North Texas roads that may get freezing rain
SUMMARY: prepared for the possibility of icy roads, even though most areas in North Texas are only expecting rain. Brine trucks were out pre-treating highways and bridges to prevent freezing rain from sticking. Drivers are glad it's mostly rain in the forecast, but Tex Dot is still taking precautions. They have crews on standby in Dallas, Collin, and Denton counties, ready to apply brine and sand as needed. After last week's snow and ice, they want to make sure they are prepared for any potential hazards. Even with just rain, drivers are aware that roads can still become dangerous, and they are encouraged to be prepared.
With a possibility of freezing rain in some parts of North Texas overnight, TxDOT is taking no chances. Brine trucks were out again pretreating highways and bridges to the north and northwest of the DFW Metroplex.
