UAW Strike: Local businesses concerned about Arlington GM strike

Published

www.youtube.com – FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth – 2023-10-25 17:22:57

SUMMARY: United Autoworkers at the GM assembly plant in Arlington have joined the nationwide strike against the Big Three automakers, demanding better pay. Nearby businesses frequented by the striking workers are concerned about how long the strike could last and its impact on their own businesses. One restaurant, the Daiquiri Depot, has employees who are also temporary GM workers, struggling to get the hours and pay they need. The restaurant hopes the strike will be resolved quickly and that it won't negatively affect families for an extended period. The strike fund for the UAW is currently at $750 million.

It is now the second day since United Auto Workers at the General Motors assembly plant in Arlington joined the nationwide strike against the big three automakers. Some nearby Arlington businesses frequented by those workers have concerns over how long the strike could last. #uaw #uawstrike #arlington
