SUMMARY: More rain has raised flooding concerns, particularly near White Rock Lake and White Rock Creek, areas known for such issues. Permanent safety barriers are installed to close roads during significant rainfall. Currently, an unoccupied car has been submerged for 2-3 days, highlighting the danger of driving through high water. A resident mentioned the car stalled at a stop sign before getting swept away by fast-moving water. This serves as a reminder: if encountering high water, turn around and don't risk driving through it. Adhere to safety warnings and barriers to avoid danger. Stay safe and heed First Responders' warnings.

Only the top of a vehicle was visible in the flood waters around White Rock Lake in Dallas on Wednesday morning. The owner reportedly abandoned it a few days ago after it stalled. Now it's nearly submerged.

www.youtube.com – FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth – 2024-07-03 17:38:42

SUMMARY: Barrel's eyewall is closely brushing the south coast of Jamaica but is not expected to make landfall as it parallels the coastline. Winds are at 140 mph, cementing its status as a Category 4 hurricane. Moving West-Northwest at 20 mph, Barrel will pass south of the Cayman Islands with strong tropical storm force winds. It's projected to weaken to a Category 2 before making landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula early Friday. After crossing the Yucatan, it may regain Category 1 strength in the Gulf of Mexico. There remains uncertainty if it will impact northern Mexico or the South Texas coast, particularly around Brownsville or Corpus Christi, by the weekend.

Hurricane Beryl is moving near Jamaica before heading west towards Mexico and possibly Texas. FOX 4's Dan Henry is tracking the storm.
