Published

on

www.youtube.com – KPRC 2 Click2Houston – 2023-09-15 09:37:03

SUMMARY: Hispanic Heritage Month begins today and runs through October 15. The Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston aims to promote Hispanic culture and history in the city. During the next four weeks, the institute will host an annual gala to provide scholarships for Houstonians. The difference between Hispanic and Latino lies in cultural usage, with Latin Americans tending to use Latino and Anglo Americans using Hispanic. One pressing issue within the Hispanic community is immigration, which has both political and cultural significance. The institute hopes to build bridges and showcase the diverse cultures of Latin America through food, music, art, and more.

Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston’s Jim Soto joins KPRC 2+ Now to explain how the institute promotes Hispanic culture. | Visit ihch.org to learn more.
